Markaz Nurul Islam Li Talimi l Arrobiy was established with the pristine guidance of Allah, and utmost adherence to the teachings of the noble prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), as an offshoot of the great institution Markaz Ta’limil Arrobiy Al-Islamiy under the auspices of the great scholar of immense repute, Sheikh Adam Abdullah Al-Iloriy, may Allah pleased with him and grant him the loftiest of paradise.
Markaz Nurul Li Talimi l Islam was established in the year 1975 by one of the most respected scholars and a product of the most revered institution of Arabic and Islamic Studies in West Africa, Markaz Ta’limil Arobiy Al islamiy, Sheikh Daud Alfanla Abdul Majeed Eleha. The respected proprietor mentioned that the institution began admitting its first entrants in 1975, with the sole aim of mentoring Muslim children and wards within and around the Agege environs on the Islamic knowledge and the Arabic language, following in the footsteps of his mentor/revered teacher Sheikh Adam Abdullahi Al-Ilory, may Allah be pleased with him.
The institute started with the teaching of Quran recitation and moral instruction at a space in Isale-oja Agege, and in the year 1977, the institution had already produced a number of students both male and female. The institute continued to grow in leap and bounds this was evident as at December 1979 when the institute had its first convocation ceremony, where it had first graduate with the performing certificate in Arabic and Islamic studies.
In accordance with the vision of the proprietor’s Sheikh Daud Alfanla Abdulmojeed Elaha, the institution continued on a positive trajectory and extended its certificate offering to cover the Idadiyyah (Primary) and Thanawiyyah (Secondary) certifications in Arabic and Islamic studies. This development continued until Sheikh Adam Abdullahi Al-Ilory of blessed memory, permitted the institute to give a certificate in both grades.
Markaz Nurul Li Talimi l Islam over the years has then been identified as a sister institution to Markaz Ta’lim ill Aroby Al-Ismlamy due to the various contributions the latter has made to the establishment and development of the institution.
Over the year, Markaz Nurul Islam Li Talimi l has graduated students who have had tremendous impacts in the field of Arabic & Islamic studies, as well as other endeavours. Some of the products of this institution have gone on to become scholars of repute in the fields of Islamic propagation (Da’wah), and Islamic theology and literature. Others have gone onto becoming Imams of various Masjids, as well others have held various political positions within Nigeria and diaspora.
This institution has established has 2 studying sessions, morning sessions and evening sessions. The morning session has 7 classes, starting from the Primary to the Secondary (Thanawiyyah). The Evening session has children who are just learning the recitation of the Qur’an and other basic Islamic knowledge.
Since its inception in 1975, the institution has graduated not less than 5,000 students with both primary and secondary certifications in Arabic and Islamic studies.
